Hello and welcome to all,
I'm humbled to share some of the places I’ve been—the moments I bring home and share with you all.
As the grandson of a Holocaust survivor, I’ve been fortunate to see extraordinary places. More importantly, I’ve connected with the people who call them home and grown to love cultures different from my own.
My photographs are part of that journey.
Costa Rica became home for almost half a year. During that time, I experienced an incredible variety of landscapes, some of the most breathtaking scenes I’ve ever encountered. What stayed with me was how much could exist within one country, and how much there was still to discover.
Then came Colombia and Ecuador, where the scale of the landscapes sometimes felt unreal. Standing beside towering wax palms in Colombia, reaching around 60 meters into the sky, felt like stepping onto Pandora. Places like that change your sense of proportion. You stop, look up, and let yourself feel small.
Argentina brought me to Patagonia and Iguazú, two of the most surreal places I’ve ever visited.
Patagonia’s colors, landscapes, and quiet were pure nirvana for me. The calm wasn’t only in the mountains. It was in the towns, along the trails, and in the rhythm of moving through the region. There was something special about simply being there.
Iguazú was a different kind of overwhelming. The waterfalls were so immense that my mind struggled to take them in. Rainbows appeared everywhere. It was a waterfall dreamland, something I could photograph but never quite fit into a single frame.
Brazil captured my heart through its people, football, natural beauty, and climate. Bahia, especially, became a meaningful part of my journey. Through my social initiative, Comunidade FIT, bringing together Futebol, Inglês, and Training, my connection to Brazil grew beyond the places I visited. It became about the people I connected with and the experiences we shared.
Europe came next, a striking change of scenery and rhythm. Ancient structures, a laid-back atmosphere, and places where I felt no pressure to hurry. Sicily’s volcanic landscapes offered another kind of wonder, while Cádiz earned a special place in my memories.
These experiences are what I bring to my photography: not just how a place looks, but what it felt like to be there.
Through Lil J’s Photo Canvas Studio, I share those moments as canvas art. I hope that you find a photograph that speaks to you, whether it brings back a memory, sparks a new curiosity, or gives you a sense of calm.
This is the world through the Eye of Lil J. I’m glad you’re here.
